Introduction
Warm-heartily greeted by the chief priest of the temple, Sri S.Ramanujam Muniandy began the evolutionary story of the Kajang Sri Renganathar temple. During the 1960s, the temple began as a small hut with a small picture of Sri Renganathar from India, which was situated in a small forest between trees that took shape of a "naamam". In the year 1964, upon the establishment of JKR and Telekom quarters around the area, the hut-temple development began with the support of local MIC (political party), tamil school teachers and the government. In the year 1967, the hut-temple was developed to a proper temple structure with a 3 feet image of Lord Renganathar.

The presences of Lord Hanuman in the temple began during the 1980s through a 1 1/2 feet image. In the year 2005, the 4 feet Hanuman image was installed. The temple management wanted to focus on the uniqueness of Lord Hanuman, by utilizing the Lord Adi Renganathar's temporary Kumbabhishegam mandabam (hall), an open-eye meditative Lord Hanuman with his chin-mudra posture was installed in the mandabam, Lord Hanuman is an amsam (form) of Lord Shiva, which inspired the management to design Lord Hanuman's meditative posture in a Shiva Lingga.
The interpretation of his presence teaches us the importance to give high focus within us. The Chin Mudra illustrates the required values of devotees to submit themselves to the supreme being.

(Sri S.Ramanujam Muniandy explaining on finger's associations)
Para finger: Paraathma energy
Jeeva finger: Jeeva athma energy
Aanavam finger: Ego energy
Mayu finger: Materialistic attachment energy
Kannma finger: Karmic energy
In summary, the chin-mudra tells us that to attain blissfulness and unite with god, one must combine the energy of Paraathma with Jeeva aathma and let free our ego, materialistic attachment and karmic past. When one surrenders himself with that understanding, god will take care the rest.
Another unique presence of this temple is the 9 hanuman placement that resembles the Navagrahas. Sri S.Ramanujam Muniandy believes that Navagrahas is not a necessity in perumal temples, he explained, "Perumal worshiping itself is complete, and it is not necessary to have Navagrahas in a perumal temple, in the 9 famous Dasavatharars (is being believed that Lord Perumal have taken 1000s of avatharars, but the 9 ones are the famous ones ) is being associated with the 9 navagrahas and attached with their respective history".
The is also a folk story regarding Lord Ravanan's atrocity of enslaving the 9 Navagrahas through his 9 steps stairs and how Lord Hanuman manage to free them from the enslavement, which granted back in favour to Lord Hanuman's devotees to be free from all doshas by the Navagrahas.
Sri S.Ramanujam Muniandy explains the reason and need of a bigger idol of Sri Renganathar. The devotees needs to see the feet of Lord Renganathar and the smaller version was insufficient enough as the garlands and flowers might block the view. The unity of nemesis is witness here (Lord Garudan and Lord Adisheshan (5-headed snake)). By praying to Lord Garudan, one will be free from Naaga dosham and illness.
Besides the interesting sharings of Lord Hanuman, Sri S.Ramanujam Muniandy also explained his vision on spreading perumal bakthi through the temple. He believes that Hinduism should move forward, simple practices like having god's images on wedding invitations should be avoided. one must not only follow trends and do for the sake of it, deep understanding on everything we perform is a necessity.
